Air Bridges Between Cuba and USA Expand.
The governments of Cuba and the United States signed a historic agreement on civil aviation last month that includes regular routes, nonexistent for over 50 years. U.S. airlines have wasted no time in submitting their applications to the Treasury Department, including United, Delta or American Airlines.
The arrival of tourists, businessmen, intellectuals and artists, will promote cultural exchange as well as understanding and collaboration between the two peoples. For the Cuban side, access to information, experiences, connections with the market and with entrepreneurs of the world's largest economy, will be a prime opportunity. For Americans, this is also a unique opportunity to exchange with the cultural and human wealth of Cubans and the possibilities of an economy that is relaunched.
Air routes favor the bridges of empathy and opportunity, leading to greater strategic collaboration and investment opportunities, as well as the final lifting of any limitation that exists for the visit of U.S. citizens to the island. This is a fundamental step in the normalization of relations and an essential step to strengthening cooperation between the two countries.
